Intel GN40 netbooks held back by Windows XP

One of the main selling points of Intel's Atom N280 processor and GN40 chipset bundle for netbooks is enhanced 3D graphics performance and hardware video decoding, but some of these new features make use of DirectX 10 and DXVA 2.0 (DirectX Video Acceleration 2.0) APIs which require Windows Vista or later. Of course most netbooks are still shipping with Windows XP.

cost aside, there is no reason at all to not migrate to vista. it is a better product.
