AT&T had a decent, but slightly down Q1 2009, year-over-year. But the iPhone was a bright spot, and based on that, expectations were high for Apple's earnings, and the company did not disappoint.

That is impressive.

However like it said the Iphone and Ipod were the ones keeping them alive. Would make sense since it is a popular cheaper item.

I agree, in fact it is just as expensive as the Macbook pro, but you have to consider what I think a lot of people do. "it's only $200"

But then Unlimited data, unlimited Text, Minutes come out to be at least $80/month and you are locked in for 2 years.

Final price $2,120 not including all the taxes/fees each month so in the end it will most likely be around $2,300+. I know a lot of people that pay $100/month. Now of course you can get it cheaper but if you don't want the data plan or texting just buy the Ipod touch.

Reason why I don't want a smart phone.

i've been upgraded to having unlimited texts at no cost.. and i still don't bother using it.

I do have to say that I am sure it would be sweet as heck to have any smart phone, but is over $2,000 over 2 years really worth it just for a phone?

Maybe, but I rather spend that money upgrading my computer!!
