Persistent illegal file-sharers should be cut off from the net, an alliance of UK creative industries will tell the government on Tuesday. The alliance wants the government to force internet service providers (ISPs) to disconnect users who ignore repeated warnings about sharing illegal content.

let's face it. Everyone has downloaded at least ONE file in the past that may have been "illegal" ... even getting an mp3 from a friend over MSN will be illegal I guess

That's how freedom is dieing, and the reason they have been able to do this as with the amount of crap being spread information wise, it's double think to consider it as a good thing to keep this kind of freedom, look at all the corporations and such that your ilegally killing. Meanwhile it's just as ilegal to cut someone off in this manner as well. But it's spun in such a way that you considered to be doing something ilegal as well...

2 wrongs making a right in this mindset to the point where no one will have the right/freedoms to do anything about it at all.
