A controversial French bill which could disconnect people caught downloading content illegally three times has been passed by the National Assembly. The legislation, backed by President Nicolas Sarkozy, was surprisingly voted down by the Assembly last month.

Re: French 'net piracy' bill passed
Looks like we are in 2009 BC.I know "piracy" is a bad thing but warning and cut service off people doing that that's utterly insane
Maybe after some time they should be thrown in jail as well as killers and criminals.

Re: French 'net piracy' bill passed
All you have to do is:
1. take control of your internet connection. companies around here automatically password wireless routers these days so you're protected out of the box 2. not download copyrighted material illegally I don't think that's asking for much. At least in the US, ISPs have already been monitoring p2p traffic and will send you letters telling you that you downloaded illegal material.

Re: French 'net piracy' bill passed
I always assumed they would fact check before forwarding legalese to a customer
