Church of Scientology banned on Wikipedia
Wikipedia has banned all contributions from IP addresses owned by the Church of Scientology.
Wikipedia's "Arbitration Committee" (otherwise known as the ArbCom!) voted unanimously in favour of the ban on the controversial church. _________________ Source: TechRadar

Wikipedia blocks Scientology from altering entries
Wikipedia has blocked the Church of Scientology from editing entries at the communally-crafted online encyclopedia due to an unrelenting battle over the group's image.
A "longstanding struggle" between admirers of Scientology and critics of the group prompted Wikipedia on Thursday to bar online edits from computer addresses "owned or operated by the Church of Scientology and its associates." An array of editors believed to have taken sides in a Scientology public-image war at Wikipedia have also been barred from tinkering with topics related to the church. _______________ Source: Physorg

Re: Church of Scientology banned on Wikipedia
It would seem that they were consistently flouting "conflict of interest" rules, so any group or person who cannot observe such a key principle desrves to be warned and then banned if they persist.
