Opera says shipping Windows 7 without a browser isn't enough

Antitrust investigations are nothing new for Microsoft. The company has been investigated and found to abuse its dominant market position on more than one occasion by authorities in the U.S. and in Europe. So far, the actions taken against Microsoft haven’t affected the firm's market dominance.

imo....

theres a reason other then not bundling or bundling browsers with an OS..... maybe your browser just isn't a favorite....

the only other browser which has given IE a run has been Firefox..... and seriously.. that's about it in the scheme of popularity

so when joe-blow installs Windows 7, he loads it up and can't even browse the internet?

this joe-blow may not have a nice copy of firefox or opera or whatever on a USB key ... soooo...............

weird.

just have a popup come up when you double click a desktop icon called "BROWSE THE INTERNET" asking you "which browser would you like to install?"

- IE
- Firefox
- Chrome
- Opera
- Safari

click your choice, and it downloads and installs it.

and if you choose something other than IE8, they'll make sure whatever gets installed runs HORRIBLY slow and pops up error messages "THIS PAGE CANNOT BE VIEWED IN xxxxxx PLEASE INSTALL IE8"
