Monitoring lap times can often be as satisfying as watching a Formula One grand prix. And now lap-time geeks and fans can follow lap times on their Apple iPhone and iPod Touch with the official Formula 1 Time and Track Positioning App.

There are a couple of unique components to this $7.99 app (available for download at the iTunes App Store), most of which incorporate the official data feeds generated at each race circuit from Friday practice to the race itself on Sunday afternoon.

personally I'd never buy an iPhone, I think they're over-priced and under-specced.
