Universal phone charger deal done

Life could soon be easier for millions of mobile phone users across Europe. A deal's been done between industry bosses and the European Commission in Brussels to work towards a 'one size fits all' charger. It would mean an end to users having to hunt around for the right type of charger for their handset and should help cut waste.

Interesting, Apple are part of that deal too? no more dock connector?

Surely it doesn't need much effort to standardize on mini-USB?

The connector standard already exists, so it's either, YES we use it, or no we don't
So it pretty much ties the system to being 5V 500mA, precisely what my current Sagem has on a wierd connector.
