YouTube to drop support for IE6

YouTube will soon be dropping support for Internet Explorer 6 as it attempts to move users to a "more modern browser". Google, who owns YouTube, is pushing for users to upgrade to Chrome, Firefox or IE. It's no surprise that they are pushing for users to switch to Chrome with two advertisements to download the browser which Google is using to challenge Microsoft's IE 8.

Re: YouTube to drop support for IE6

if you can't upgrade to ie7, or at least FF2, then you've got some issues.

No kidding.

Lets not even think about all the security holes that must be open with such a old browser. Anyone who uses it deserves to have youtube not work on it anymore!!!

Re: YouTube to drop support for IE6

i would imagine that primarily businesses still use ie6. i for one, prefer ie7 over any other browser to date. although, FF 3.5 is really grabbing my attention. there are just few things that i wish FF had ie7 does. if FF had these features, i'm pretty sure i would move over entirely to FF.

haha, and this coming from a guy who loathed and despised FF just a few years ago .
