A Closer Look At Safari 4: How Does It Stack Up?

In early June, Apple released what is arguably its most significant upgrade to Safari yet: Safari 4. In typical Apple fashion, the company was quick to deem it the "world's fastest and most innovative browser." Today, we're setting out to find if that bold claim is indeed true, and we'll be breaking down the features and performance profile of it--along with its fiercest competitors--on both the Mac and PC side.

clearly written by a firefox fan

But I do agree with his statement in the conclusion, regarding those who really don't need/want a heap of extra plugins, Safari is quite fine otherwise

Biggest downside to Safari - Apple's "Software Updater" and the "have one, push all" behaviour.

I don't have an Ipod, WTF would I want Itunes?

Re: A Closer Look At Safari 4: How Does It Stack Up?

to rip your cds, to download songs, to browse 30 sec plays off the store. to see new releases. the list is quite long. i don't have an ipod and I use itunes.

what I would really like really answered is, are there any tech guys who actually don't fall into the apple fanatic or apple hater camps. I am one, any other takers?

I use Safari, enjoy it and I think it appears to be faster than IE7 on my puter.
