SUMA Overclocks RADEON 9600

Performance boosting of RV350 core also known as the RADEON 9600 continues. Thanks to high yields of the product, ATI Technologies may simply allow some of its AIB partners to overclock the graphics chip so to attain or exceed performance level of NVIDIA’s GeForce FX 5600.

SUMA announced today its RADEON 9600 Power Up with higher core and memory speeds compared to reference following its own “Total Overclock” traditions. From default 325MHz for VPU and 400MHz for DDR SDRAM, the Korean graphics card maker upped the VPU speed to 375MHz and memory speed to 500MHz, DarkCrow reported.

SUMA RADEON 9600 Power Up is equipped with 128MB of 3.6ns memory in TSOP packaging theoretically able to work at even higher speeds. The graphics card features pretty standard configuration of packaging: a D-Sub, a DVI and a TV-Out. For those, who love funky hardware, SUMA installed a fan with a couple of neon lights for eye-catching experience.

Earlier this year the company already unleashed its RADEON 9600 PRO with VPU functioning at 450MHz and memory working at 650MHz.

Even though currently I have no information about pricing of graphics cards from SUMA overclocked by default, as practice with NVIDIA based solutions from SUMA and Gainward shows, such devices do not cost a lot more than their non-overclocked competitors and we can expect them to be quite affordable.
