Re: Windows 7 Could Spark Move To 64-Bit

While a shift to 64-bit is likely, I'm not so sure if the majority of the business sector will make the move to W7 just yet.

Major corporations take time to upgrade to new technologies because foremost they require stability in their daily operations, and need time to test a lot of apps, especially the ones that are built in-house and not bought off the shelf.

If they are willing to shell out extra for the Professional versions, then the XP compatibility mode will help somewhat to make the transition easier.

Big Grin Re: Windows 7 Could Spark Move To 64-Bit

RAM Is cheap and its rare to find a PC with less than 4GB RAM and I reccomend 6-8GB more if you can afford it. As Ram is cheap. 65-bit allows you to utilize this great amount of RAM. i see 64Bit taking over and don;t see 32-bit in anything but netbooks. Seriously int he past year haven't most PC's been sold witht he 64-bit version of Vista? just go to your local Best Buy or Fry's see home many computers come with windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Re: Windows 7 Could Spark Move To 64-Bit

They could have "skipped" the 32 bit version of Win7 by only offering 64 bit. The retail version has both 32\64 included but not so the oem version.

Re: Windows 7 Could Spark Move To 64-Bit

I wonder why the still bother with 32 bit applications and OS's when clearly 64bit is the way to go hopefully W 7 will make 64 bit OS's more desirable .
