Western Digital Raptor 36.7GB 10K SATA Review
It wouldn't be crazy to suggest the SATA interface was over hyped. Initially, everyone imagined SATA as the mainstream's answer to SCSI, however it was soon revealed that SATA is really just a revision on the old PATA standard rather than a new era. Although installation was easier and overall efficiency was slightly better, hardcore users cared little for these features and found themselves still buying faster PATA drives. It seems SATA will still be a 'work in progress' type technology until it matures, where we can expect rating of 300MB/s and even 600MB/s in the coming years. These will surely allow SATA to proclaim true victory, but in the mean time, lets take a look at the Western Digital Raptor 36.7GB 10,000RPM SATA drive, touted as the fastest mainstream drive available by enthusiasts world wide. Can the SATA interface finally get one over the steady PATA interface?

Can't wait to save up my money and get two of these babies and put them in Raid-0 format. Man...that will be nice.
