Windows 8 Release Expected in 2012 ?
Windows 8 will be with us in 2012, according to Microsoft roadmaps apparently revealed at last week's Professional Developers' Conference (PDC).

Although Microsoft has yet to officially discuss plans for Windows 8, a 2012 release would be consistent with previous Microsoft pledges to release a new desktop operating system every three years. Windows 7 was released a month ago.

Pure speculation imo, I reckon instead of releasing a new OS All the time MS should keep updating one, Perhaps if Windows 7 does earn back the haters from the blog writers that slammed Vista before release MS can make 1 OS rock solid instead of several dotted about

Windows 8 and 9 (yes, 9 is also confirmed) will apparently be 128-bit capable. If 128-bit processors are out by then then that would be the sole reason for a new OS.
