Internet service providers urge changes to digital bill

Peers are being urged to make substantive changes to government plans to tackle illegal file-sharing by ISPs.
At a heated debate in London, members of the Internet Service Providers' Association (Ispa) heard from the government and music body the BPI.

The head of Ispa said members were not convinced that their proposals, which include disconnecting persistent offenders, would tackle the problem.

You know the problem with file sharing software is that it is actually useful, banning it doesn't help, coz you don't necessarily have to share illegal software or movies, your pictures , home videos, even non profit movies like Zeitgeist and the like thrive through these free file sharing technologies, their policing will limit freedom of expression.
Free media shareware and open source also make use of this technology.

Banning this internet service will be a huge blow to them. We actual stand the risk of the government telling us what software to use and when, what to watch or not watch basically paving the way for us paying our way through all our software services and limiting our freedoms.
Eliminating free stuff(open source) means our governments control whats on our PC's and have us pay for software on our PC's by taxing us and paying the Big software giants, making them even more money

If I were them I would do it. The internet and its proponents are rebels however and wont go down without one hekava fight
