The GeForceFX series, especially the FX5800, is perhaps Nvidia's first "real" failure since the TnT2 days. The immaturity of 0.13 manufacturing process and the use of DDRII 128bit memory bus cause the lacklustre performance of the GeForceFX 5800.

Nvidia is quick to correct its mistakes and releases the all-new GeForceFX 5900 series. The GeForceFX 5900 now sports a 256bit memory bus to alleviate bandwidth problems when FSAA and anisotropic filtering are used. In addition, Nvidia has updated the CinFX engine to 2.0 on the FX5900.
