Intel sues Broadcom over alleged patent infringement

ALTHOUGH A PREVIOUS case between rivals Broadcom and Intel was settled, while back, it looks as though war has broken out between the two bitter rivals once more.

This time, it appears that Intel is suing Broadcom over an alleged breach of its patents, a case 830 in US federal law. This probably or possibly relates to an earlier decision that went against Broadcom earlier this year, see the link below.

Intel filed suit in a Wilmington, Delaware court on the 16th of July, with the corporation demanding a jury trial in the case.

Broadcom was served with the suit just a few days ago, and has to respond to Intel by the 11th of August.

There's no details yet of which particular patent or patents Intel is alleging Broadcom has infringed, although we'll try get that information when Santa Clara wakes up later today.
