nVidia docent have the best card right now
There so close its to hard to call a winner! And this comes from a FX 5900 Ultra review in Computer Gaming World. The articles head line reads "Nvidia Scores a Draw With Its 256MB GeForce FX Ultra" I'm not going to reprint the whole thing (don't want to type that much )But the final Verdict says... They gave it 4 out of 5 stars "Fast, as in very fast, and thankfully, the noisy fan is a thing of the past. That said, this baby's expensive, and it's not the clear-cut performance leader. We also found the 1600x1200 tests disappointing. In most of the tests that they ran the Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB was on top. The FX 5900 Ultra did edge out the 9800 Pro in a few tests. Wonder how much scratch did nvidia pay to "id" Not that I believe everything I read in PC game mags! But it does go against what some of these other enthusiast sites have to say on the 9800/5900 thing Mmmm [H] =

I don't think it has to do with who is best
I think it's just Nvidia's turn. I inquired the forums about why NVidia is this year's QuakeCon's choice of video card, but I got no real answer. Last year ATI was @ QuakeCon and this year it is NVidia. Maybe next year will be ATI again?
