VisionTek RADEON 9800 PRO Now Available for $299
VisionTek became world-wide known US retailer when it started to sell NVIDIA GeForce3-based graphics cards – the highest end 2D/3D accelerators of that time - back in 2001 at an affordable price. The time has changed and now VisionTek sells ATI RADEON powered solutions, but apparently, VisionTek decided to play the same game again: it now offers its XTASY 9800 PRO with 128MB of DDR SDRAM memory for $299 after rebates, the lowest price of this enthusiast-oriented graphics card ever seen.
We had managed to get one of those “Ferrari F50 of 3D” in our European test lab for testing and even did some pictures of the babe. VisionTek XTASY 9800 PRO powered by ATI RADEON 9800 PRO VPU is available in CompUSA’s web-site, for a limited time, at just $299 after rebates. The graphics card comes in a stylish plastic packaging with some insane scenes on it. The graphics card follows exactly ATI’s reference design for RADEON 9800 PRO graphics card with 128MB of memory onboard, while the product bundle includes nearly everything you may need. This may be the end of the "great debate" of choosing between the GeForce FX 5900 and the RADEON 9800 PRO graphics cards, VisionTek said today. Especially for price-conscious customers, I would add. When Hartford Computer Group acquired VisionTek late last year the prospects of the brand and the company were uncertain. Seeing that VisionTek is now offering the nearly highest-end graphics card at performance-mainstream price point we can be rest assured: VisionTek is back in all its glory. In order to get the XTASY 9800 PRO 128MB into the race, order it here. PS. Expect VisionTek’s rivals from NVIDIA camp to offer the same kind of campaign sometime in future. ______________________ Source: X-BitLabs |

Hmmmm GeForce FX 5900/5900 Ultra $399.00-$499.00
And then you can have a 9800 Pro for $299.00 and get a better performing card!

Yeah it kinda sucks to spend all that money and a few months later it be a a helluva alot cheaper. Ahh.. but so is the choice the impatient consumer makes
, Besides you dont think about it while you are gaming do ya? Of course not.
