Firewalls: the ins and outs

Firewalls are an often overlooked piece of vital protection for everyone online and it still amazes me how many people use a high speed line with little to no protection whatsoever. Its a risky business.

Infoworld have a pretty nice article up on the ins and outs of firewalls, its pretty indepth and spans quite a few pages so ill hit you all with a link to the main index section which is over here.

I lightly scanned over the artical and looks pretty good. I will have to read it in more depth when I get home from work. I did notice they talk about the Toshiba Magnia SG20 which runs Astaro Security Linux. I have that Astaro at home for my firewall. I have it running on an old Dell Dimesion 400 Celeron and let's just say it is the best firewall I have ever had and the cost was perfect! (Free)

My cousin gave me the PC for free and Astaro is free to home users.....
