Raven's lead programmer talks about Quake IV

It's already been two years since id Software first announced Quake IV at QuakeCon 2001. At the time, we were told development would be led by Raven Software - developers of games like Soldier of Fortune II and Jedi Outcast - using id software's new DOOM 3 technology.

Since then, there really hasn't been much info available on Quake IV. Most of Raven's time has been spent getting familiar with the engine as the team from id continued to develop the technology. For an update, we sat down with Raven's Rick Johnson, lead programmer on Quake IV, for some insight as to how the game is progressing and some of the hurdles the team has had to clear while working with the new tech.
