Biostar goes i848 with the P4TSP-D2 motherboard
It seems that Biostar has silently launched a new motherboard based on the cheap i848 chipset.
The i848 is basically a stripped down and cheaper version of the Springdale chipset, without dual channel memory support. But motherboards based on it do support Intel his upcoming CPU, the Prescott. The Biostar P4TSP-D2 supports most of the latest features. It has support for 400/533 and 800MHz FSB and has two memory sockets which support maximum 2GB of DDR400 memory. It has eight USB 2.0 ports (4 rear and 4 internal), integrated LAN, two Serial ATA ports, two IDE ports, AGP 8x, integrated AC97 audio and more... Full specifications can be found here. <img src="http://www.hardwareheaven.com/dom/news/biostar/pic.jpg" width="280" height="195"> Details about pricing and availability are unknown, but the price will not be too high because this is a budget motherboard, just like this i848 motherboard from Albatron which costs $92 in Japan. ___________________________ Source: DVHardware.net |
