Arrest Coming Today in Internet Attack

WASHINGTON - U.S. cyber investigators have identified a teenager as one author of a damaging virus-like infection unleashed weeks ago on the Internet and plan to arrest him early Friday, a U.S. official confirmed.

The 18-year-old was accused of writing a version of the damaging "Blaster" computer infection that spread quickly across the Internet, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. The official asked that further identifying information about the teenager not be disclosed until the arrest.

Further details were expected to be disclosed Friday by the FBI and U.S. attorney's office in Seattle, which has been leading the investigation.

Using Norton personal firewall here .. recording IP's and screenshoots of attempted "Back door Trogan attempts"

Ya gotta be pretty lazy to get infected with that DCOM exploit, they released the fix for it way before it was bringing large networks to its knees. Whats up with the lazy IT people not keeping their stuff up to date? Either way I don't wanna be this kid, I'm sure the rest of his life is pretty much gonna suck now

Fix was installed .... NAV2003 Pro Edition installed
In my case it was not an email .. it was a direct IP attack ..

Watch for mutations of this virus

I just don't get why these people continue to write viruses. As we have seen in the past, anything that does this much damage is a gurantee that they WILL be caught. Have fun with Bubba and don't let the back door hit you on the butt till the lights go out kid.

According to newly updated news, the 18-year old has already been questioned and is now under surveillance.

I guess they're just waiting now for solid evidence before making the arrest.

Also, I had problems from the MSBlaster and had also gotten the fix back in July.
