Visiontek Xtasy Radeon 9800 Pro Review

VR-Zone put up a review of the Visiontek Xtasy Radeon 9800Pro video card, which is a good card, but visually a bit disappointing as it is an exact replica of the ATI reference design.
  • It seems that controversy never leaves the video card industry. Before the recent 3D Mark 2003 fiasco there was of course the rumors of Visiontek's demise, the reasons for it, and how ex-employees of Visiontek started BFG. Fast forward to present day and Visiontek is back, stronger than ever and of course hand in hand with ATi, a company that was once one of its arch-rivals.

Visiontek and particularly the 'Xtasy' brand have always been popular in the United States, partially due to the fact that Visiontek products could be found at every Best Buy, Comp USA, and Circuit City in the country. That said, Visiontek is also currently selling the cheapest Radeon 9800 Pro (after rebates), which is currently going for $299.99 at, you've guessed it, Comp USA.

A full $100 cheaper than any retail 9800 Pro card that can be found on store shelves and over $50 cheaper than the best online prices, will Visiontek's latest ATI branded video card stand up to the latest and of course proven offerings from FIC and Sapphire? Let's take a look...
