Review: Gigabyte Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB with DDR-II
TweakTown have posted their review of the Gigabyte 9800Pro with 256Mb of DDR-II memory!
- Video cards seem to be one of those items that the market can’t get enough of. New cards are released every six months thanks to the tough competition between ATI and nVidia and any other company who dares to join the rat race. ATI’s latest flagship model, the Radeon 9800, is the successor to the old speed king from ATI, the Radeon 9700 Pro.
Gigabyte has become an nVidia converted company, like Hercules and Leadtek. While the latter two have only been recent converts, Gigabyte gave up on the GeForce GPU during the GeForce 3 days. Today, Gigabyte is one of ATI’s biggest third party vendors to ship ATI based video cards.
So far we have tested their 9500, 9500 Pro, 9700, 9700 Pro and 9800 Pro video cards, all of which have proven themselves to be a very competitive alternative for people who can’t get direct ATI cards from the company themselves.
Today we take a look at the latest installment from Gigabyte to its ATI-powered portfolio, the new 256MB Radeon 9800 Pro video card using DDR-II memory.
