New Windows XP Intel P4 & AMD K7 Processor Driver

I just got word that Station-Drivers have snagged the latest known version of the Intel P4 processor driver for Windows XP. This is version 5.1.2600.1264 and it is WHQL certified. and comes from windows XP SP2 It works with all Pentium 4's, Desktop or Laptop. added support for Mobile Pentium 4 HyperThreading

Note: Manual installation via device manager is required.

for me they only came up as dell drivers.(p4)

odd.even though they stated for all p4 cpu's.unzipped into file which contained self exefile.

tried manually and there were no inf file found to install.

Anyone have these installed yet and notice any difference? I am downloading them now. Just curious as to what the effect these will have on my experience.

This is incorrect.; no *.inf file to install manually.
Just run the *.exe installer, which only mentions the mobile P4.
Re-boot, and new driver is installed for the desktop P4 CPU.
Firewall also shows a "change in NT Kernal".
Working fine for me.

i have installed 3 times still no change in driver.

date:01/07/2002 driver as from installation of xp.

version:5.1.2600.0

if new drivers were installed would not the date and version be more recent.

You could try running setup again, and before it finishes, grab a copy of ippmqfe.cat, ippmqfe.inf and intelppm.sys for the language you want from C:\Program Files\Dell Computer Corporation\ and try updating it manually.

Look in Device Manager/Processors/Intel Pentium4 CPU/Driver/Driver details:
My P4 2.4c CPU shows "File version 5.1.2600.1264", Driver date is 3/17/2003.
Before this update, was "File version 5.1.2600.1106".

i have only one driver in there & that is the only one stated.?

I already HAVE the AthlonXP .1152

(To a person above "Drivers" are needed for the OS as it enables it to know what it can do (SSE, SSE2, SpeedStep/Powernow etc..) afaik)

I wasn't telling you, just stating I already had it

If you have SP2 v1213 you have these already (and have had them for quit some time)
see bottom of original post it mentions AMD's as well...

oh... the to the person above wasn't ment for you but the the one that asked... :o
