$30 Million Budget to Back Hollywood's New Femme Fatale

September 04, 2003 - Continuing its strategy of developing cornerstone franchise properties with widespread commercial appeal, Majesco, one of the fastest-growing publishers of interactive entertainment software, today announced a deal that will take their popular action/horror video game, BloodRayne to the silver screen. Vierte Boll Kino Beteiligungs-GmbH & Co. KG (Boll KG), the production company responsible for several film adaptations of video games including Alone in the Dark and House of the Dead, has purchased the theatrical film and merchandise rights for the game.

Executive producer and director Dr. Uwe Boll, expects to begin filming BloodRayne sometime in 2004 and estimates a budget in the $30 million range. Shawn Williamson (White Noise, Alone in the Dark) of Brightlight Pictures is set to produce.

Somehow I have a feeling that this post will be the only thing that I will ever hear about this movie. I didn't even know about those other adaptations until now.

Alone in the Dark, movie, stars Christian Slater as Edward Carnby, Stephen Dorff as
Commander Burke, and Tara Reid as Aline Cedrac.

Thanks for the links but are these movies any good at all? A little skepticle as I have yet to see a really good movie based on a game.

Could be a typical action movie with good blood, too bad youl only see the main character from the rear

I would say that, as for BloodRayne, if we can turn on all the 'eye candy' it'll be worth it.

A lot would depend on the story and who gets the lead part of BloodRayne.

My personal vote would go to Nicolette Sheridan. Even at 40, she's still 'got it'.

Id say a new comer might be good, make this their breakout movie, no one currently seems to fit the part

I saw these a few months ago. I don't really see her playing Rayne. I don't want to say she's 'too fat', but, I think someone more 'slender' would be better.

She's just a booth babe from E3 dressed up as rayne.
But IMO she is fine

I prefer a body like what she has over a 110lb girl anyday.
