Downloading now. Next file will be the Control panel file that I see there. I'm not going to bother with the wdm files.

Is that a newer version of the control panel than the current one?

A note to people using the ftp server:

Don't use Leech FTP. I didn't realize that it automatically opens up 6 different connections each trying to get connected and I think I just got my self banned.

I'll make sure not to use it again

First impressions... install went smooth as silk. Played Falcon 4 SP3 (D3D) at 1024x768x32, all settings for high quality and 4x Quality Smoothvision. It averaged 30fps in the straight forward view, even flying at about 50 feet off the ground around buildings.

Can't comment on Opengl, I have no OGL games installed at this moment. Will install TRibes2 a bit later and see how it goes with it. Just haven't had time to get it back on since my last reformat.....

I have the drivers on my personal FTP for download. 2 users at a time....

P.S. zardon change the cpanel_020704a.zip to CPanel_020704a.zip on your post as my web server is case sensitive it seems :|

I have had to disable my FTP to put in a new hard drive in my PC !, but there are plenty of mirrors popping up and we have my good friends at fileconnect hosting them on their fast server so I dont see a problem

..................but isn't this the old control panel? You know, the blue one? I uninstalled the old one first because it asked to modify repair or uninstall. Was that my mistake?

Same Ol, same ol. Will run them in a couple hours. With the drivers you get the old blue control panel, installing the control panel drivers gives you the catylist control panel.

Bleh.. I don't have the time or patience to try out every new driver package that comes along. Until I see a definitive reason to upgrade, I'm sticking with what I've got now.

Default Post OK, Need To Run The Drivers First

You must install the drivers first to properly install the Cpanel. I get it. Does anyone know, though , why RefreshForce resets? Where does it resident in the reg?

With my 8500LE these drivers are stable for me, scored 300 higher in 3dmark2001. 279/279 I'll keep'em.

The drivers install the old blue control panel, installing the control panel file brings it up to the catylist control panel.

Tried them with whats on the system now. Compared to Omega's last release and ATI's last leaked release. No tweaks yet, just as installed.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein: No difference in game play or graphics.

Unreal Tournament: Same as above.

SOF2: Seemed to run a bit smoother, outdoor greenery seemed greener, graphics perhaps a bit better.

Refuse to run 3D Mark or fps, game play, the feel, the graphics are all that matters to me, not numbers.

I'll keep em, see what the DH guys do with them, no going back now!Just some after thought, are we not at the max with our cards regardless of what tweaks are made to the drivers??

Small update, tested the OpenGL with Tribes2. All details maxed 1024x768x32, 2x Quality smoothvision, and I was averaging about 70-80 fps by my best guess. Sometimes it was much higher, sometimes it was lower, but overall they seemed very fast.

I'll stick with em!

The control panel only installs properly with officially released drivers. If you are using a leaked set and want the "new" controls, you must follow these directions:

1. before installing drivers, go to regedit and delete HKLM-->Software-->ATI Technologies (whole thing)
2. now, install drivers and control panel as usual (preferrably clean)
3. open regedit
4. Go to: HKLM-->Software-->ATI Technologies-->
5. Now, expand the "jumbled numbers" thing.
6. Add two new DWORDs "NewOGL" and "New3D".
7. Set both of those values to "1"

DONE

Yes but the newer drivers can improve stability with the "max".

What's the problem with installing the control panel? Just uninstall the old drivers & control panel first and reboot. Eop!

Actually those 2 settings are **supposed** to be set by the CPanel installer
