If my calculations are correct - thats not a new record. The record as far as I recall set at 1.6Gig/sec from Amsterdam (or Netherlands, I can't remember which) to New York in 1 second. THAT is impressive. TransAtlantic pipe keeps getting bigger and bigger!

.....actually, if i can recall.... shutgunning 2 fiber optic pipes connected 250 miles away (source to sendie).... they were able to send neary 10gb of data in under a second....... according to the results... they were pusing just over the 65Gbps........ and i think this took place awhile ago.... wonder what they'd be able to do now as i think they were limited to sending 10gb because of the computer systems capping out.... but my gaud.... 250,000$ per fiber optic router?
