Listed Fixes:

Version 1.01 Changes:
- Fixed game crashing to "Exception: Bad Allocation" on Windows 98/Me during loading of certain levels. This may potentially fix other crashes as well.
- Improved loading times on low-end computers.
- Improved Technical Support Tool to include CD-ROM Model.

Sadly, it did not take care of my CTD problems. I just had one after getting ready to Load a Saved game. This is a first for me. If I get a CTD it usually comes as there's some scripted action taking place.

How much faster does it really need to be??

Personally I think the load times are fine... not too long but just enough to give me a moments break. Got to let these eyes of mine have a slight break now and then......

wow, a game that is released on time.. and has patches on time! thats freaking awesome (still waiting for a republic: the revolution patch...)

I have gone ahead and filed a bug report re: my CTDs and Reboot problems.

For those who may be having trouble and are not aware, in the main directory where you installed the game is a Bug Report app. You can open that and make your report directly to the developers.

i've been having some ctd's aswell. just like the first max payne, mainly on the loading screens

Did this patch do anything else? I need a patch for the volume levels of the cut scenes. It's driving me nuts! In the game all the sounds are extremely low volume except the guns and bombs, then the cut scenes come and blow my freaking headphones, speakers, whatever- I've tried EAX, no EAX, Multi channel , no Multi channel, High medium and low (anything but high sounds horrible)- Also I've tried all these settings with Headphones, 2 speakers, 2.1, 4 speakers, 4.1, and 5.1 setup. There is a problem with the volume levels on all the sounds, some are so soft I can't hear them, some are so loud it just about blows the speakers... Doesn't anyone else notice this???

I'm using a Hercules Fortissimo III 7.1 Game surround.. It works perfect with all other games I've tried. I hope this isn't a specific problem for my sound card only, because I'm not giving it up.

same soundcard here m8 and didnt notice a huge diff in volume levels sorry

TBh the sound was actually pretty sweet

I've experimented similar problems but only with the voice of max, in certain parts his voice sounds far away. Another issue i've seen is that the cans and boxes don't make any sound when they hit the floor or the walls, it's a little weird...

BTW i have an audigy 2.

Too late, I just finished the game

... It was pretty short but so good and polished! I didn't get any CTD or any other bugs, ayway.

i use the game surround 7.1 aswell, and sometimes the 'multi channel audio' wont work with my 5.1 set up, no center channel.. i dont know if its my drivers, or what.

halo is a little like that also.could be the drivers but creative have not made a new driver for audigy 2 for sometime.
