AOL Pushes on Search, AIM Fronts
" Watch out, MSN. AOL is getting active again. On Wednesday, the company inked a deal with Macromedia, which ultimately will allow AOL's presence and instant-messaging capabilities to be embedded inside Flash applications. AOL also announced it is acquiring a multimedia search-engine company, Singingfish, that will enable it to provide audio and video search capabilities. And finally, AOL quietly switched on a new feature in AIM that allows users to be logged on concurrently from multiple locations using the same screen name."
