1: the build number on the desktop
2: I have noticed a few GUI bugs
3: I have noticed bugs where if I'm playing a video it will not let me go full screen, but if i closed it and reopen it, it works fine.

For some damn reason though I'm getting that stupid "For testing purposes only" watermark on my desktop now. wtf is that all about? No beta crap on my comp, all gold code. Wonder if this has something to do with not running the sp1.
jesse ;-)
I do hate that watermark on my desktop.
no sp1 installed yet
Wondering whether XP will startup after xxx times?

I know what may be the problem . I don't have the pretty visuals enabled on my desktop! Is that the case with you too, Crash?

Delete this registry entry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\SystemCertifi cates\CA\Certificates\FEE449EE0E3965A5246F000E87FD E2A065FD89D4 then reboot, and the testing will be gone, this is a different entry, than the ones posted before to remove Testing from 1073 on desktop, MS has changed the location, but this little program finds it easy enough http://downloads-zdnet.com.com/3120-...ive&tg=dl-2001

Someone posted a link to this program a while, backed, and I downloaded it, everyone should get it.

Well, I tried that program and apparently it didn't find it easy enough

What did you search for?

I was talking about the notice that comes with XP version 1073.... the reg entries are different from the ones from previous versions..

Here is the complete registry entry, I just export it, then add a - in front of the entry then merge it, this tells XP to delete the entry, if I ever need it back just remove the - and merge it, the entry will be added back to the registry.

I didn't find the key there. But it lies in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

Remove the key FEE449EE0E3965A5246F000E87FDE2A065FD89D4 seems not working.

Do you need to have one of the service pack betas installed for this to function properly? I see there a few people having strange problems that others can't seem to verify. Could it have something to do with the XP service pack?

I don't know what exactly your'e talking about here.. are you referring to Autorun, a feature that has been in Windows since 95 (also pretty simple to disable)? If so, why do you associate it with XP Corp as if no other version of Windows ever did this?

Anyone figure out why some people have controls in the task bar, and others don't? I don't, when I click minimize, that's exactly what it does, but no controls, like some people get, it must be some setting.

I'm thinking that if you are running a service pack 1 build that has a newer build of WMP8 than the gold build (so if you had version 8.0.4484 or 4485) , WMP9 will not work properly because not all of the files are updated. Just a thought...
