QuickTime Alternative 1.30 RC6 - Real Alternative 1.20 RC6

QuickTime Alternative will allow you to play QuickTime (.mov .qt) files. This way there is no need to install the offical QuickTime Player. As a bonus, Internet Explorer will play all QuickTime movies that are embedded in a webpage. You do need a player that is capable of handling QuickTime movies. The included Media Player Classic works very well with QuickTime.

Real Alternative will allow you to play RealMedia files without having to install the official RealPlayer. You do need a media player that is capable of playing RealMedia files. The included Media Player Classic supports it. Supported are RealAudio (.ra .rpm), RealVideo (.rm .ram .rmvb), RealText (.rt), and ReadPix (.rp). Not fully supported are: Streaming smil files (.smi .smil) and Realmedia embedded in webpages.

I've been using Media Player Classic for a year, its' a great program. I haven't used Windows Media player for a long time- that's a good thing.

Same here, using MPC for almost everything. And without RealAlternative I would simply choose to ignore any RealMedia contents on the web. I can't understand that so many sites still use the Real junk.

I know, it's been pissing me off for years- I write to sites that use it and ask them sometimes and they tell me it's because people have problems with WMP--

I think, these are people that create web pages for a living and they are dumb enough to use Spyware Real player for EVERYTHING? WTF is their problem? I dunno- I guess it's a mass- stupidity problem I haven't been able to figure out. Very annoying though, and sometimes there are still in-page realplayer files I can't play with MPC for some reason.
