i liked this review a lot but there arn't a lot of cons to omega's drivers?? and i use DNA drivers currently with no problems and omega i used but for like 10 min so i coudnt test them out. but i would really like to see some other people do unbiased benches to confirm neon's results because i could really use the extra frames

First off I would like to say that I visit this site and Rage3d a number of times a day. Everytime I log on actually. I've loved all the info I've gotten from them. Saying that I'm also on the DNA Beta team. I tried to get on ATI'S but did not make it. I would like to say that I've used everyone's drivers at one time or another and I never have a problem with any of them (none that I could not get resolved anyway). I respect Omega's work and used his exclusifily when I used to have a NVIDIA CARD and have used his ati drivers too. I have even sent him a donation in the last month (along with one to this site and Rage3d and KS too) to help him out as I feel it is good to have options out there. That said I don't know the whole story and don't want to regarding KS. I was just interested in beta testing and he needed help. This is strictly my opinion too. I've only had one problem with his drivers and that was getting them to install on my 9800XT and he worked with me and we got it resolved and that is what I'm supposed to do as a beta tester. Besides that I don't have any problems with them. They run everything great and look great too. As to how he handles getting his drivers to the public is this. He is constantly tweaking stuff and giving us revisions after he releases a set up until the time ATI releases a new set. Then he goes over their new set and compares it to the last beta set he has and makes any changes he needs and sends us new beta and if we have no problems with them he releases it. So as far as the time frame goes he isn't waiting for Omegas to come out to release his. We are getting new ones from him all the time during the month. Do I agree with his attitude sometimes. No I don't and I have told him that also. Like I said it is only my experience and I have no doubt people have had problems with his stuff as some people have problems with Omegas and the Official ones too. Like I always said not everything works the same way on any given Rig.

Why are you surprised, given both DriverHeaven's and the tester's history with KS and the DNA drivers? I'm NOT saying the tests were faked, but given the animosity that exists of course some people are going to asume it. And I do have a question in the back of my head if DH would have treated the results differently if they had shown the DNA set to be better.

For the record I used the DNA drivers once, they fixed a problem with the Control Panel not wanting to install, (I posted about it here and on Rage3D at the time), ran good but had bugs that prevented me playing a couple of my favorite games, so they didn't stay on my system to long. I'm using Omegas now which is what I usually use

A good review. I don't want to get into the major details, but i think you should edit the spelling part. Why you ask? Well for one we all know he lives in Holland, Netherlands and infact English is not his/there native langauge. Its a second langauge and it would depend on his age if he is fluent in it or not. (but judging from what hes posted in the past "pfft")

Other then that thumbs up, though the conclussion has raised eyebrows.

edit: well after browsing through his forums what i just said is completely invaild. So leave it in.

If the tests had shown that the DNA drivers walked all over Omegas would it still have been hyped all over the front page? Or simply buried in a thread somewhere like the link to that German site that apperently showed them to be the best. I think if DNA had walked all over Omega, they would have had to report that....

They would have to state that DNA also had to be doing something over and above Omega, but that is not what happened

just my opinion though cause Neon does tend to tell it like it is

You should have seen the rants he went on when he was converting from Nvidia

No matter what the results would have been we would have posted them up for anyone to see just like what we did. You can read what you want into the bias we supposedly have here. We dont do it that way here at Driverheaven. We show the facts and the truth!

You dont know Mike (Neon Cowboy) very well then do you?

If his results had bared out that the DNAs had won and DH even had the slightest thought about suppressing it he would have raised holy hell.

I never said DH wouldn't post the results. I questioned whether they'd get front page status or simplied buried or briefly noted as just another set of benchmarks. After all it's human nature to hype results you agree with, not ones that mean eating a large plate of crow...

I said that if they tried to "suppress the results."

Suppression has many levels. The one I usually associate with it is also called downplay.

Thats probably what I should have said in the first place.

Basically, what if they had promised Mike front page and didnt give it to him because the results didnt bare out what they wanted to see?

He'd be ripping this site a new one.

Me and him used to have bouts over ATi vs. nV until he joined the light side.

Also if you really look closely at his results. FPS vs Image Quality ATi is the actual winner. For pure IQ Omega wins.

Id have to dig through the threads for quite some time to find it but he was told once it was done that it would be posted as news

That always means front page.

Also since I get tired of sending PMs :P Mr. K still hasnt written me back since I told him about Mr. Rs actions and showed him the stuff. He's been on the forum quite a few times since then.

That site as never posted here except by killer sneak and his inner circle. Killersneak is quite fluent in German ad believed by many to be directly involved in that review by more then just a handful of people. Also the test results the German site was way off in contrast to what was found when I tested. To me I question weather the benchmark score decided with the pc off or on. Either they didn't know what they were doing; they did something quite wrong or pulled the results from this air we may never know. By what I could see it wasn’t done in a controlled environment. Also it wasn’t in a professional manner that they took a lot of their screenshots by taking photo with a digital camera.
They got many small things wrong for example the release dates. I'm looking at it now.
they dont go into much detail or mention alot of stuff thats apparent...

This review meant to bring DNA down. Its a complete lie, the 16bit Z-Buffer is a complete lie, and could totally screw with all the scores, the settings are definately like the ones I get from RadLinker. And just listen to what he says about VSYNC - it may cause artifacts?! Tearing - YES, not artifacts, but in a game like CoD - does it run 100+ FPS on all the computers?! OH HELL NO! Not with AA and AF! This is THE most biased review there can be on the internet.
