A new version of memtest86+ is out

Based on the well-known original memtest86 written by Chris Brady, memtest86+ is a port by some members of the x86-secret team. Our goal is to provide an up-to-date and completly reliable version of this software tool aimed at memory failures detection.

Yes, thanks for the heads-up. Started using it as one of several tools after seeing it recommended on a recent ScreenSavers Tech TV show. Very useful...

Guillaume is on a distinguished road

I tried this one tomorrow. Made a floppy disk, but when booting Memtest+ crashed.

It displayed the upper part of the screen properly (MemTest, CPU, L1/L2 cache, Memory, Chipset, and settings), but from there on only MemMap info was displayed, everything else was empty. So it just crashed when trying to begin testing...

Check my specs in my sig.

Thumbs Up! Thanks for the heads up

Just downloaded the iso version and burned it. Booted off the cd no problem and was able to select any/all tests.Correctly identified the chipset, ram timings, lvl2 cache on the barton, which was a problem with version 3.00 always said unknown.
I'll let it run all tests tonight and report back if I had any problems with the tests.

That's weird -- it worked great for me- did you use a freshly formatted floppy? Did you try to download again and make a new floppy?
