Half Life 2 Delayed... AGAIN

Just had an email from Gameplay.com telling me that the release date for Half Life 2 has been changed to Sep 24 2004

Thats 248 days until release!!!

I guess they must be completly re-making that game! Shame nVidia got so upset about their performance, that they forced a re-work of the GFX Engine to make nVidia GPU's perform better.

in the beta release i do notice that my FX6500 /TD performs well with some tweaks and OCinng may be its true but i cant belive it.
I have 34 frames/sec, maybe they push the frame rate up, but still waiting for this release, i liked the first release more then the second.

I hope this isn't true.
I notice that amazon.com have it down for a March 15 release. Amazon.co.uk have it down for April 2nd, play.com have it for April 9th.

Hopefully gameplay.com have got it wrong. It honestly looks to me as if no-one really knows when it will be out. There could be many reasons why gameplay have pushed back their date. Could be that they don't think they will be able to honour everyones purchase straight away and push it back this far so that some people cancel their orders. You just never know.

just done a search through kelkoo to view a various amount of sites which is taking pre-orders. with any luck this could be a rumour!!!!!!! ( i hope) all are stating around 2 april release.

This really isn't much of a surprise if you ask me. How long ago was Team Fortress 2 supposed to be out? Valve takes so much time on their games, give a release date and then retract it a dozen times or more.
Then to top it all off, they REFUSE to give anyone any type of date right now. Their PR department needs to be replaced.

I normally do not get pissed about these types of things, they just happen. But damnit this game was due to be out 5+ months ago. The date seems to be pushed back again and again and Valve will not comment on this. This is actually irritating the hell out of me. I do not want to get my hopes up for April and realize I will have to wait another 6 months. Please Valve, it is time to speak up and give us some idea. Even if it is only an estimate, it wil be something and these other websites will stop guessing.

I know what's taking valve so long, they are working very hard on turning HL2 int a crappy XBox port similar to DX:IW.. at the same time trying to implement all kinds of anti-piracy technology that will be cracked in 3 hours..

Way to go Valve, HL2 is looking worse and worse with each passing year.

To be honest with you.......this is one game that I am NOT going to buy. The game has been given so much hype......there is no way in hell they will ever be able to live up to it......no matter what.

I think I will just wait for Doom 3......I think it will be a better game anyway. And if they come out with an expansion pak for CoD.....I will be super happy

Any game that the crew that made CoD.....I will buy in a heart beat.

Also......it isn't easy to keep from flaming this game or Valve, though we should try, even though I personally cant think of anything nice to say about Valve and the way that they have handled this game. If they do push back the release date again.....there credability will be shot to hell with the graphics card companies as well as the retailers. People that have voucher's for this game....there cards will be outdated before they ever get to play it.......

Yeah, can you say "class action lawsuit"? I'm not kidding either- the customers would have good reason to go after valve for that- its' obviously not ATI's fault. If I bought a 9800XT for a voucher, then the game never came out (or came out so far in the future that there were bigger better games, and bigger better cards)- I would be very pissed off.
