PC Power & Cooling 510 ATX-Deluxe PSU Review
"Today we are taking a look that the PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool 510 ATX-Deluxe Power Supply (PSU). PC Power & Cooling may not be a household name to you, but they have been selling power supply units since 1986, one year after the business was launched in a San Diego warehouse. For those familiar with PC Power & Cooling, they know the high quality found in each product, and for those unfamiliar, this review may serve as an introduction"

This PDF explains a little more why these PSU's are so good.

I had the exact same findings with my multimeter on the PCP&P 510 (That is after I threw my old crappy Radio Shack one out the window for reporting the 12V rail to be 16V and replaced it with a Fluke)
It did 12.14, 5.14, and 3.34 under full load and they didnt jump around at all even with 4 HDs, 3 cd drives, a soundcard, 4 Nics (I wanted to really fill up every part of the system that could possibly draw power) a r9800pro 256M, 1G of ram, and a barton drawing 2.2V. My 550 Enermax would drop huge amounts down all the way to 11.61, 4.89, and 3.13 under load with the same system, not only that, they were bouncing all over the place. PCP&P is on my very short list of good companies: PCP&P and DFI. No one else is good enough to get on that list, but maybe they will be someday. OCZ might soon be added to that list depending on how well they deal with the thermal paste issue and if their ram quailty keeps up for a few more months. |
