REVIEW: ABIT AI7 @ Driverheaven

We've just posted our latest review which takes a detailed look at the ABIT AI7 motherboard...

"Back when I used Athlon XP’s I went through a plethora of motherboards trying to find one that worked the way I wanted, had the features I wanted and was reasonably priced. Eventually I settled on the NF7-S (2.0) which was a great board. As well as meeting the above requirements it was also an excellent overclockers board if you had the right CPU. Therefore when I decided to make myself a Pentium 4 system a couple of months ago the first motherboard manufacturer I looked at was ABIT, eventually settling on the AI7. Hoping for a similar experience to the NF7-S would I be disappointed?"

Excellent job once again Stu, I hope you have better luck than Z has recently with the Abit stuff

Nice to see the AMD still leading in many tests also

How come in some comparisons you have a 3P4 using dual memory against a single FX-51... like if you are trying to compare, do you not try to level the field a little?

What system details on comparison systems?

The review looks nice, but I can't say it made me feel that it was as complete as it should be if you are going to the trouble.

The benchmarks show how a P4 compares to the FX, AXP etc and what performance you could get with the board if you chuck in a p4 3.0 (or 2.4 later on) but thats not the point of the review, the point of the review is to talk about the motherboard which we spent a great deal of time doing.

The comparison systems were noted at the begining of the review if you want to go back and check... and if you come back in a few hours you'll be able to see how the AI7/3.0 compares to the AFX dual channel in a different article...
