Please vote for your favourite shader in this comp - alex barkovoy won the smartshader 9800 XT competition so to be fair ive excluded him from this chance to win a cyberxgames tshirt kindly donated by Terry Makedon in ATI, so please download from here unzip and vote for the author of your favourite shader. you can post in here why you like the particular shader, we just need a vote for the author ! thanks to Maurice in ATI for gathering together all the shaders, with the new pssControl2 file for us.

For all those who don't have an DX9 ATI card, I've taken screenshots of all the pss files from the .zip, running over Serious Sam.
It's unfortunate that you can't see them in action to really appreciate the effects created by these talented people
. . . these still shots aren't nearly as impressive as seeing the shaders in full motion.

Thanks for taking the pics Vamp. Now even those people without R300 hardware can vote. But if you've got the hardware do try them out since some of these can only be appricated with motion.

Has anyone else actually been using these? I've decided I actually like playing some games with Kuwahara outline more than the way they were made. I'm a sucker for cell shading though so maybe it's just me.

Duh...

I am VERY anxious to view these FANTASTIC contest results. Howver, forgive me...I cannot figure out HOW to view them. I downloaded PICTURE and FILE Viewer from www.joeltechnologies.com/PVindex.html and it is supposed to allow viewing of .pss files...no joy.

Where is the EXPLANATION of how to view these pieces of art???

The .pss files are meant to be used with the pssControl.exe program.
You run the program, open a .pss file with it, then start an OpenGL game.
You should then see the custom shader effects in action, like in the screenshots.

Note:
if you have Cat 4.2 drivers installed, use pssControl.exe
if Cat 4.3, then use pssControl2.exe
