Earlier (a few minutes ago) I couldn't open ANY threads-I could open the forum menu, but when I clicked on an individual thread, the page just hung. I rebooted and then it worked. Who knows.

But that doesn't look like one of those, if that is even the case. edit- I must have remembered wrong, the email links have "newpost" at the end of them.

Is it not possible that edperks has his options set to display fewer posts per page?
So he ends up with the thread being 2 pages long, while others have the thread all on one page?

edperks prob has his set to show 10 posts per page. Sometimes the simplest answers are the last to be found.

Hmmm, so it's actually a flaw in the forum software- it should ignore the "page number" and just go to the post, no matter what page it is on, since the page it will be on is different from person to person depending on their settings...

It would do just that, if it were a link to the post. But instead, it was a link to the thread, and specified page 2 . . . no flaw there.

It shouldn't do that because it just creates bad links for anyone who doesn't happen to have their personal settings the same-- for number of *posts per page... So I don't see the point in having the page number involved at all- isn't there a way to stop it? *edit- posts per page- ( I said pages per page at first )

damn... was late... i was going to mention the "page" thingy.. but reading on shows that i'm not the only smart one here
..... i've ran into it a few times never asked questions because the address link tends to explain it all... (100 post per page.. if i had a chance.. i'd set it to 250 and be happy)wait i take that back.... 250 would be a nice option... but so would "ALL"
