New massive subatomic particle created
"A new type of exotic particle appears to have been created fleetingly at an accelerator in Germany, reveal physicists. The particle, comprised of five quarks, is only the second type of "pentaquark" seen since the first was reported in summer 2003. And already its properties are puzzling theorists."

lol.. sounds kinda funny... puzzling theorists... well.. consider they just happened to slam some atoms together.... and now there puzzled?

not sure you understand but the reason they are puzzled is that they have many theories waiting for approval based on the discovery of those exotic particles. if one of the particles come out completely different than any of the theories, than that mean all the therories are proven wrong.

true.. i understand that.... i've i questioned this at school.... as far as we know so far... is that we are currently working on the physics that have been built up apon for centries.. and we are at the breaking point of completely destroying it all because of a flaw somewhere in it...

totally agree...... what i don't understand is that when some people sugest (like me) there is a smaller form ..or subform into the atom beyond the quark and string..... you get slapped down.... at school... when i said that there was a smaller thing ...or something inside the quark called a string.... the teacher got PO'ed at me...... as our text books are achent... and they dont like to go beyond the books..... (specailly when an old theory has been proven wrong and they still teach it because it's what the book says)

yea but you dont know if there is smaller subatomic particle as as string or anything else. Our atom smashers are not advanced enough to get down to that level. i read somewhere in a theoricital phsyics book that it would require an atom smasher the size of our solar system to pinpoint it back down to planack level, and imagine how much of energy we need to power that atom smasher. we'll prolly find a way to come up with a singuality generator or mini black hole generator.
