"The Pentium 4 EE and Athlon 64 FX are both premium, top of the line CPUs and, as such, they are two CPUs which you will most likely not consider when your next CPU upgrade is due. First of all, this is the top of the line for both companies. Secondly, they could be a very interesting alternative for building a workstation or low end server."
"The 3.4 GHz Pentium 4 EE is by a small margin the fastest CPU in 3D Rendering. However after examining the results closely, I am no fan of L3-caches in workstation applications. At best you get a 13% speedup compared to the 3.2 GHz Pentium 4 Northowod, but in some cases we even saw very small performance losses. The 200 MHz higher clockspeed adds a little bit more but it is hard to justify paying $600 more for this kind of performance advantage."
