Just got a "Closed" page when I went to the old forum address.

Here is where it directed me:

http://www.neowin.net/closed.htm

That is too bad

Default Post Found this on the site:

Neowin is closed for now.

We don't have the capacity to support the type of site we have always wanted to bring to our visitors. Despite our best efforts we are still refusing our visitors and long term members the web site due to errors similar to "Server too busy"

Since Neowin will never be just another phpnuke or copycat wannabe tech site we would rather call it a day than continue to limp on our resources. So for now we opt for closure.

I wonder if this is true, or it is just hacked?

Seems to be a nice hack, but from the message left, any link to a "professional hack" has gone down the tubes. It's probably an estranged script kiddy member trying to get some dumb revenge. (my thoughts)

they were not hacked, there are looking for a new web host, they have outgrown the current one they have, and susequently are redesigning the site.

The amount of traffic coming through there was large and people would often be stuck with "server Busy" messages. now with broadband connection this is annoying but with dial up it is murder to wait for a page to load and get a busy page all the time. they are trying to accomadate for the increased traffic and are moving to a larger web host to ensure quick connects and maximum uptime.

They will be back

so they shut down cause of server busy messages? hmm i know a site that would have shut down 50million times over cause of that

well lets just hope they find a bigger webhost soon
