Nvidia cuts ATI off at the gulch with Far Cry support
"THE AMAZINGLY good looking game Far Cry has support for the shader model 3.0 but that's currently supported only by Nvidia's Geforce 6800 cards.
This is the first time in history that some new marchitecture got support from the first moment of announcement. We are talking about a retail shipping game since it was not hard to see some fancy looking demo in the past that supported just about anything that graphic companies inserted in its chip transistors."

Is it really confirmed that the next gen ATI cards does not support P.S or V.S 3.0?? Or is it just rumors.

They also say the new ATi card will be faster--
then at the bottom they say something about it being called R500 and supporting PS3- so who knows...

I will comment about PS 3.0 though all though it looks cool the FPS is low... and 2.0 is a magor inpovement as well someone on rage3d took shots with the far cry in 2.0 and it's looked good

BTW... nvidia had a part $$$ in far cry just like doom 3. far cry was with compiled nvidia's prefured language (cg) too ...

The shots shown as a compairson whats supposed (presumed fake/not even neara ps 2.0 shot) the ps 2 shots there look way better then those used in the publicised nvidia compairison
