Logitech MX700 Wireless Optical Mouse Review
" previously owned the Cordless Mouseman Optical, which had a few problems, frequent battery changeouts, signal issues, and some "wake up" issues as well. This mouse is essentially the beefed up version of this, with all of these problems fixed.
Packaging was the same as with all logitech mice, but this one comes with a rechargable base, and they even include 2 AA rechargable (good) batteries rated at 1900ma. As with most mice, plug it in and you're good to go." Get the rest of the review at Neowin |

I have one of these and they still have issues, especially the really anoying one where you have no mouse on bootup. This then means that you have to reconnect to a different usb connector/mobo header to get it to work again.
Really annoying although if Logitech could sort that out they would have the perfect cordless mouse. |

I own the MX Duo which has the Cordless Freedom MX and the MX700 and I have to say that this is the best mouse/keyboard combo that I have ever owned. The mouse not being present on boot? How far away do you have the base station? I noticed that if it is more than about 2 feet away you can have problems... the base is not designed to have a strong signal that covers the whole house... I had another computer with the mx duo and was able to use them both in the same room with no interference. I would try moving the base within 16" of the mouse... The mouse itself... I am impressed with the battery life. I get about 10 days on a single charge... and thats with a lot of gaming...
I got mine at newegg for $75... its the retail version and it has free shipping... its a lot better than best buy as they want almost $100 for it... Also, since moving to the MX700 and the 9800 pro, I have gotten banned permanantly from a couple UT2k4 servers... they didn't even warn me. No I was not hacking... I would not even know where to get them... anyways the best I can figure is that with the new hardware, the game is finally at the speed it was meant to be (normal) so I am lagging a lot less and am able to own the other players.... |

I've had my mx700 for over a year now, and I love the ergonomics of it. The extra weight is perfect for accuracy in games. However, in all this time, along with multiple emails to logitech to no avail, their drivers are by far the most horrible I've ever used for something so simple. I've reconfigured two of the buttons to copy and paste, and they always revert back to the crap defaults after so many hours. I mean, how do you screw something up like that, have they never used the OS they created the drivers for? The time it reverts back after reboot has increased in the previous driver version but it still occurs in under 24 hours.
But I suppose getting it brand new from Best Buy for under $20 after a rebate and pricematch was worth it.
