125 or more mb. of a free OS updated!/ well, it put 4 words on the desktops.

no report at all!.. re any machine run better when with or without it.

it must be.. 100s of posted around since beta build v106x

when its final.. 2 options:-
1. the final copy of SP1 will remove it for you.. nah it should!
we shall see and if not/ will find the way to do it then.
2. no matter whats/ with or without.. for testing.. you still cant get the SP1 to be installed on your machine.. again we shall see/ will find a workaround then.

why dont.. stop answering to that questions?!?
= save words $ make spaces more useful & made pages easy to read to all.

Has anyone else noticed that windows is now using less ram with XP/SP 1097???

I've noticed a actual speed difference in my system better speed, less ram usage, and faster net services sofar.

i guess this one has made somes improved to IE so i'll not run the XP without this build.

WHOO!!! I just installed v1097 and boy, my computer seems faster(it was when I had v1089) and web pages loads faster in IE. Thanks DriverHeaven!

i just got around to installing 1097...was busy at a small LAN last nite...and the 1090 uxtheme.dll worked just fine

has anyone run into the problem of internet explorer not working after update? the update went fine but when i went to connect with ie it wouldnt connect, so i tried netscape and it connected just fine, i went to the tools menu and everything seemed ok.(i am using a cable modem) i then removed the update and now i can connect again. any help would be appreciated. thanks

I installed the new service pack this morning and have been happily computing away. That was until I tried to check my email and could not change identities in Outlook Express. I select a new identity and it asks if I want to keep the same internet connection and I reply yes and it reopens the default identify again. If I change the default identity and shut down, then reopen the program again I can access the identity that I set as default but no others.
Its a pain to access it this way but I know that the other identities are still there. Has anyone else had this problem?

create a new file rename it remove.bat

copy this line into the file

------copy start------
reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\ROOT\Ce rtificates\2BD63D28D7BCD0E251195AEB519243C13142EBC 3 /f

save file then run it.

the words will be gone after desktop refresh or if that don't
work reboot then it will definately be gone.

redownload it. the file is correct on the server. you must have had errors while downloading.

I did try to read this article Q327101 but it doesn't exist. My only conclusion is my build 2600 was one of the last release from XP just before it was final on the market.

Here my question does any one have the same build and actualy install it successfully it goes for the build 1097 as well.

I have exactly the same problem. Think it's maybe something with replaced logon/boot or something like that. If anyone know how to fix this, plz reply.

windows key+E..
tools/folder options/view >move the dot to Show hidden files..
at c:\ open a file called.. boot (boot.ini)
ctrl+A ,ctrl+C... then reply me & ctrl+V to show it to me what you got now.

i tried to install but got an error sp1 1097 aborted-that was it? what's up with that?
it extracts, then right after inspecting configuration i get the aborted message? the other packs installed fine and i did also archive them?
the file size is 129 megs right?

With the new problems that have popped up in 1097 and the fact that there is only 11 days left to the release date and they haven't made a release candidate yet, I wouldn't hold my breath.

I never got the "For Testing Purposes Only..." with build 1097. Funny cos some seemed too. Wonder why it effects some and not others. I manually removed one key, as I have with all the builds, from my prior install build of 1090 and never had to do anything after the install of 1097. Not complaing, I'm very happy.

BTW, I did / have noticed speed improvments, much more responsive, with 1090, and boot times are much quicker. 1097 seems, for me to be a bit slower again. Just a thought
