the file size is 129 megs right?
check the file.. whether its good or corrupted?
the easiest is to use Winrar.. right click the file and choose..
from menu.. extract files or open with winrar/test.
winrar will report if you've got a bad file..if so you'll need to redownload the file.
if the file is good.. read this may be it'll help you!

re: the file size is 129 megs right?
its not means that you've got good file.

Default Post Microsoft most be near release hidden secrets found!!!

I just finished slipstreaming & burning 1097 to a re-writable cd, and
was able to locate a change in service pack.

Slipstream did not replace eula.txt with updated sp1 version
my only thought is maybe M$ removed 180 day time-bomb.

anybody else try slipstream if so did you have same result?

Default Post Make Slipstream CD Bootable tip!!!

For those who like to make a slipstream SP1 CD here is a tip to help you
make your new burned CD of SP1 bootable & able to repair your machine
if it was unbootable through hard drive.

this will work with either Nero or Easy CD

1. extract the boot image from your orginal WinXP CD with ISObuster
or other program.

2. when you tell your cd burner what image to use, select no emulation
& set sectors to 4. By default programs use 1 with XP this will not
work.

3. in Nero 5.5.9.0 or higher place check by "do not ADD "1" to ISO version".
if you have a lower version below is a registry fix.

----registry fix start----
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ahead\Nero - Burning ROM\General]
"AddISOFileVersion"=dword:0
----registry fix end----

4. Burn your new CD it should now boot just like the original.

Default Post XP SP1097

Hi Guys,

First off, thanks for the SP. This site is just so good I had to register!

Now down to more important things.....

SP1097 seems to knock out a few things - my firewall for one. While it was up and running, IE or Outlook wouldn't connect. Disabled the firewall, and everything was tickety-boo.

Well.... what more can we expect from MS?

I suspect it's because XP likes to report home every once in a while, so it's not happy if you dare to try and stop it, but I'm investigating and will get back to you with some answers later. (We all know it reports back to HQ when you change drivers, and even when you open up media player).

So beware....

I am sure this is posted somewhere but does anyone know where I might find instructions on how to slipstream? Can I use the methods that they use for Windows 2000 here: http://www.bink.nu/Bootcd/default.htm ??

Thanks

You are on the right track. Just substitute 1097_xpsp1.exe for w2ksp3.exe and SP1 for SP3.

One thing though, you might want to copy the entire XP CD to your folder since XPSP1 places a couple of items outside the i386 folder.

Its a pain to access it this way but I know that the other identities are still there. Has anyone else had this problem?
Same problem, go to manage identities and un-check "Use this identity when starting a program". Then when you open OE it will give you a choice of which identity to open. Could be a bug or MS just changed the way to open multiple accounts.

Default Post XP Prof LeXISo & SP1 1097 Reboot loop Problem

I installed a clean XP Prof from Lexiso (not the Corp DevilsOwn vesion), then boot into the safemode, run the activation crack, reboot, then applied the SP1 1097 but after reboot, it reminded to activate so I run the activation crack again and I can't boot into windows anymore with infinite boot loops, boot into last known didn't help either.

Can anyone give me a hint?

Thanks.
