Had the same problem with the Lex version. After installing 1097 got the 30 day popup ran the crack couldn't reboot to XP had to format and reinstall XP. Didn't install 1097 again.

ok can anyone with any SP1 build verify this.
I have 2 machines one with SP1 and one without it.This bug only appears on the SP1 machine.
There is an option in internet explorer called enable third party browser extensions.
When enabled(on the SP1 machine) it produces this:
every time i'm on a page and i open a link in a new windows(shift button or otherwise) the new open window starts stealing focus every time it loads an image and continues to do so until the entire page is loaded.Even if i click back on the page where the link was opened.Its REALLY REALLY annoying and if anyone knows how to fix this well that would be just gr8.

Mine is enabled, actually its auto enabled from the install, try uninstalling the service pack and see if it continues. And or did you install the 1097 over top another service pack.
Im not having any trouble like what you are describing. But then again i did a full install of xp then installed the 1097 right after before i loaded any of my drivers for my hardware that didnt find durning the install. My Format is because i unloaded a few dll's but that my fault for trying other things.

Sometimes if you have thrird party addons like the yahoo,google,bonsi buddy (things like that ) browser addons they can cause trouble when upgrading or installing service packs.

ok this might be a stupid question but i'm gonna ask this anyway
what exactly does replacing the "uxtheme.dll" file do me personaly i have never replaced it
and have not had any problems what so ever what is the file for and why do we have to replace it ? i just want to know just for reference sake
