Questions or comments about 1097, here's the place.

Haven't heard yet on whether this is RC1 or not.

I hope i'll be able to post my question without being deleted ?? so here what i wrote before i was deleted.

I have winXP pro "For testing purpose only. build 2600" and the service pack build 1090 didnt install. I get this message when i try to install it i quote

"The core system file (kernel) used to start this computer is not a Microsoft windows file. The service Pack will not be installed. For information, see knowledge base article Q327101 at http://support.microsoft.com"

I did try to read this article Q327101 but it doesn't exist. My only conclusion is my build 2600 was one of the last release from XP just before it was final on the market.

Here my question does any one have the same build and actualy install it successfully it goes for the build 1097 as well.

they are saying here at mybeta.org that beta 1099 sp1 is the newest has screen shots also.

yes, to this time/date it hasnt been leaked.

yes I know its taken a little while, but its better we get several good links instead of me or shaith releasing it just on cable feeds, hopefully this way more people will get it, links coming soon.

and why would beta 1097 be 129mb and 1099 be like 124-125mb....did they take stuff out?

I downloaded the Xpsp1-1097 and installed it all is fine and no problems and no text on the desktop this time and i didn't use anything to remove it it didn't put it there which is a good sign its commin out soon web pages show up faster then before the other xpsp1 slowed then down from loadin fast or something but they fixed it now

Yeah I noticed the speed increase in IE as well. Very nice not to have to reload constantly.

Fronpage 2002. But so far so good.

Rightclick your webpage while in frontpage and cick "themes" and use an automatic preset for some nice color etc

. (unless you want to keep the page white

)

tried installing 1097 2 diffrent files i get a setup error
"Service Pack 1 Setup canceled" then all i can click is ok

i installed all the other service packs with no problems

hmm i read that that error only occurs on well.....you know.
MS might be starting to include more security

this happens when you have tampered with licdll.dll or regwizc.dll (xp antispy does this). i fixed it by replacing the files and undoing the regwiz and licdll stuff in xp antispy

thats what i did dagnabit all lol oh well im formatting it anyway as i type guess thats how we learn by mistakes. right?

must be really close to final release! because after slipstream the corp keys now work.

I just installed slipstreamed 1097 and no activation prblem at all.
