Default Post It's a curse.

I think that video card manufacturers need to hire me to buy their competitor's cards.

I picked up a Voodoo 5 back in the day and 6 months later 3DFX was dead and gone.

I went out this May and picked up a Visiontek Geforce 4 ti4400... why? Because I didn't want to make the same mistake I did w/ the Voodoo 5. And Visiontek is (was?) the leader of the pack.

Now this.

Sigh.

I'm going to just go out and buy some wacky card next time by some company that nobody's ever heard of and that isn't compatible with anything I own. At least that way I'll be sure to not have the company go under.

And if it is true and Visiontek is gone for good, at least it's not as bad as when 3DFX went under, as Nvidia is still around (for now at least).

Sigh.

That sucks very much. I have an Xtacy 4600 - but its not like we won't be able to find drivers for the cards 2 years from now. We just won't get any customer support.

Oh well, such a loss. Guess my next card will have to come from Gainward or LeadTech

I think Nvidia will keep them afloat for the time being.
